Hey guys,
I want to add a boxed inset into my LyX document, an example to illustrate
the main text. How should I go about doing this?

How does one do this? I know the LaTeX is \setcounter{enumi}{26}, but
this doesn't work unless this is actually in the Enumerate environment,
which results in the output:
1. First item
26. Second item
27. Third item
and so on. Is there a way I can start Enumerate from greater than 1.

working on. However, the standard horizontal rule is ugly (it just goes
from one side of the page to the other). How can I tell LyX to put in a
line that isn't as long (and what's a typographically good length to

I've just managed to get the job of putting together the documentation
for a SourceForge project, and it would be exceedingly helpful if I were
to be able to do it on LyX. Unfortunately, it requires DocBook format
stuff, and I don't know how (or if it's possible) to create that using
LyX.

I'm currently creating a document using the 'book' class. I have a
disclaimer of sorts that I want to put below the Title and Author fields
on the first page of the document (as it looks a bit lonely all by
itself on the second page). I'm guessing this is a job for ERTman, so

What you in fact need to do is ensure that any of the items that are in
the wrong language. Select everything that needs to be in Portueguese
and go to Edit > Text Style

with such words as Beamer and FoilTeX being thrown around. I was

report! :P One of the developers is likely to say this sooner or later
(and I've seen it said in a few individual bug reports), but I thought
I'd add this now, to save them time (scarce resources being what they

I think I may have worked out what the problem was.
I've noticed since I upgraded to 1.4.0cvs that some of my MathEd boxes
have a blue line running along the bottom of them. I'm presuming it's
not just me who's getting this, and I was wondering why it's there? Does
it have some significance that I'm missing?

I've recently (yesterday) compiled 1.4.0cvs from source, and I appear to
have lost several document classes (hollywood and broadway amongst them)
when compared to 1.3.6. They still display mostly as they should within
LyX but I can't output them in any form, which is distinctly unhelpful.
