I use -

IIRC, the fontenc package gave me a nicer looking ® than I got without it.

For mere mortals, the spell-check function reports the number of words it
examined when it is done.

Is it possible to parameterize environments in LyX?
For example, the key to t

Thanks. I think it got lost in my confused explanation, that what I was
actually writing for was a feature request. A workaround is fine for now,

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your response. Perhaps it's because I was
not clear to start with.
We use a pseudo-APA style for references. Sometimes

It would really be nice if user-level customization would let you add
additional \cite style commands to the Insert->CitationReference menu.
For instance, my research group has LaTeX commands that variously

I installed Red Hat's 7.1 beta on my test system, and can't get LyX to
work. I have tried 1.1.6fix1, both from the RPM and from an in situ
compilation, and both bomb off with the "Illegal instruction" error a
moment after I invoke LyX (and before anything visibly happens).

I like the idea. I just discovered MusixTeX over the weekend, and spent a night

I am setting some equations that refer to the handling of some data that
my readers will be familiar with, so I would like to use the actual

I see in the WHATSNEW for LyX 1.0.2 that it supports a 'broadway' text
class. The broadway.layout is there, but configure doesn't find
something it needs:

I hope I'm not answering the wrong question...
I have done some work at setting up custom layouts, but unfortunately I've
never had time
A couple of observations about double spacing, and a question:
(1) When I use the Article style and select double spacing for the
document, the body of the text and the bibliography are in fact double
spaced in the printed document, but the footnotes remain single spaced.
(2) Contrariwise, if I
