If it is something that is bugging you, feel free to become a

If you are not using windows and don't need natbib-like citation styles

Why don't you use Layout->Document->Fonts->ae (and press "Save as Document
Default" to make it default for any new document)?

\hyphenation in the preamble does not work if you use babel. You have to do
it like this:
\usepackage{babel}
\hyphenation{LDAP}

I assume you know how to set the preamble fo a single document. In the same

Hi, I'd like to be able to add
\usepackage{ae,aecompl}
to the preamble by default, so that every time I start lyx it is already
included. Is that possible? Adding this (or \usepackage{pslatex} to
the preamble seems to be the only way I can make non-fuzzy pdfs.

After upgrading to Mandrake 10.0, all my PDF files created with pdflatex
come out with some ugly fixed-width font (well not exactly fixed
width, since the letter-spacing varies randomly). I'm obviously missing
some package, but don't know what it is (not pdflatex, as that is
installed).

That's what I thought I did. Apparently, xfig 3.2.4 does not save the
whole path in the .fig if the embedded .eps is located in the same

Hello,
I am running Lyx 1.3.4 (lyx-1.3.4-1rh9_qt.i386.rpm) on a Linux box (Fedora Core 1)

Dear lyx-users,
I have drawn a figure in xfig which itself contains an eps-file. This
figure is correctly shown within xfig and lyx. However, when I try to
export the lyx-document which contains the figure to dvi or pdf, the
eps-file is not shown in the output. I get an error message: No such
