Forget all the above about "{" etc JabRef generated keys are recognised and loaded fine by Lyx, both on linux and Mac OS X. No need for putting a "-" in between. Sorry. I got all those math-related Lyx-errors about "{" and so on because, I think, I attempted to load different databases by
