Hello List,
does anybody know, if it's still possible to create macros in the
minibuffer, like it was in former versions of LyX? Because, when I
define a new command in the LaTeX-header-menu of LyX, there's always the
ERT in the document.
It would be nice to have this option again, but I didn't f

You can define it in preamble:
\newrefformat{sec}{Abschnitt~\ref{#1}}
etc. (see prettyref doc)-

Layout->Document->plain, if it's not the default of your class.

Hmm.. I thought the default page style would put the page numbers at the
bottom and centered..

Hi guys,
I read the Introduction, the tutorial, the FAQ, etc...but I don't find where:

and I want to numerate it:

Hi,

Never mind. It turned out not to be the latest version of Excalibur
(4.0 not 4.0.2) and the newer version can open the file.
The Start-Lyx error was a space farther up the chain.
Time to go home! I'm getting too slow to catch on.

Is that also causing LyX to export damaged LaTeX files. I can't get
Excalibur to open an exported file. There's nothing obviously (to my
eyes) wrong with the file. Even cutting and pasting all the text into
a new document won't create a document Excalibur can open. Not only is
it inconvenie

Wrong. Users who have no other choice will also use it. Current Cygwin users,
for example.
Why beat a living horse to death? LyX can only benefit from having
multiple maintained frontends.

Importing LaTeX files does not work with the current implementation of
LyX on Aqua. Until the problem is fixed in a new release, here's a
workaround. In a terminal, do:
% [ -d /usr/local/share/lyx ] || sudo mkdir /usr/local/share/lyx
% sudo cp -pR /Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/L

The `en' should probably be lowercase. Did you logout and login again
after changing ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist?

Hello Till,
I haven't read all the statements and replies to this topic carefully,
but I think that until now nobody suggested to check whether the value

I wonder if that's possible. I know it's built into Cocoa natively, and
it might be doable with QT/Mac because I think it's using some subset
of Cocoa, but I think it might be kind of intensive to do it especially
in xforms and even in QT/X11.
It's still a nice idea, though. I wonder how doable
I've ran into the following problem while trying to build Lyx 1.3.2 on

What is the preferred way to center an included graphic (say an EPS
file) inside a figure float? Currently I have to first insert the image
and then go to Layout->Paragraph->Alignment->Center, which (without
the availability of a keyboard shortcut) is very cumbersome.

The red line under misspelled words is one of the *only* things I ever
did like about Word... It would be nice to have as an option (that
could be turned off...)
Hi,
I am not an interleaf expert but I see you have had no luck. The basic
answer is that your problem is getting the file from the interleaf
format into something standard. From there you can get it into lyx. If
you still have a copy of interleaf then simply save it as something
portable. T

Hi!
I know, I already did sent this.
But I really do need an answer it is important, for this part of my

not to be protable into anything but Adobe Framemaker but that is just
for Unix.
I already tried Filtrix which is a conv

Hello,
Not being a native english speaker I often make simple grammatical
misstakes when writing english. What options do I have for checking
grammar in a lyx or text file? AFAIK Ispell and aspell cannot check
grammar, right?
Any suggestions for free grammar checker?
