I'm not sure why you resorted to the article class.. the CV class
included with LyX can produce something very similar.. I created mine
using the CV class.. it's at:

How can i write several books? Here's what i'm doing. One lyx file per book
(one pdf file per book). The problem is the chapter number in the second file
(lyx or pdf) start inorder with the first one. How can i arrange them? Is

The problem with view->postscript clipping the image has been traced to
dvips using the "-t a4" option. This appears the break the postscript.
Here is a diff between the correct postscript file and the one made by
lyx with export->postscript.

However when I run lyx, choose slides(prosper) and make a "title" with a
single word in it (in this case "hello") I still get
"Undefined control sequence.

If you want to use frenchb with prettyref you have to rewrite

and then tried again, no difference. Although that does not prove the problem
