Hello,
I'm new to Lyx.
Just installed Lyx 1.2.1 and Cygwin 1.3.12-2 for use with my existing installation of
MikTex 2.1 on a Windows 2000 machine
My problem is that I cannot invoke latex as there is no option View->DVI. The only
options available under View are: Update, LaTex Logfile, Table

Hi,
I remember that in lyx1.6, I could select some text and convert it to
tex mode (I might be wrong). Now, the 'TeX' button only insert a new
tex box. Sometimes I do need to convert text to tex mode and I have to
1. cut text
2. insert a ERT box
3. paste
4. close the ERT

I am trying to get lyx/latex to format my references in alphabetical order but
no matter what style I select (inserting a bibtex reference at the end of my

Ok, I looked at it before asking, and maybe I should have found the

Hello,
If you have to use the powerful pstex/pstex_t combined figures in LyX
as I do, you may find the following script helpful. Basically it
converts the two-part figure into one single eps. It saves me lots of
headache because I don't have to deal with two files. Scaling and
rotating also bec

what do you want to change? the size of the font,
size of the textwidth or anything
Hi,
I'm using psfrag and I'd like change the font size of my replacement
latex strings. In my preamble, I defined a
\newcommand{\mygraphicstextsize}[1]{%

Hello,
I have two sections in a document. I am looking for a way, so change

Thanks Robert
Is it possible to combine both bibtex citations and regular references
(like if you don't use bibtex) in lyx?
I just tried it, but just by using both I also endup with two different
paragraphs called "references" and what is even worse the numbering of
citations is equivocal.
thanks a lot

if you need it only in the footer/header of fancyhdr, then
it maybe okay to insert only \thechapter

Hi Herbert,
I think something is missing in that piece of code, since when I put it
in my preamble I get a bunch of errors. The problem is I know nothing
about LaTeX and I don't know how to fix it. I see a closing brace at the
bottom, and I don't see a corresponding opening one anywhere, so p
