I have had that probelm before. What caused it for me was that my .bib file
had been corrupted. Open it in a text editor and see if there are any
brackets missing at the end of it. Or alternatively try and use one of the
backed up .bib files. I seem to get a .bib.~n~ (where n is a number) backu

If I enter the following into a Lyz file:
\( a\preceq b \)
and generate dvi output, I get output that looks great. So I guess that
the necessary fonts are installed on my system (Mandrake 8.0).

i am trying to include a bibtex file (.bib) in a lyx document, according
to the tutorial, but i always get the following error:
LaTex error:something's wrong--perhaps a missing \item.

Must I put a bibleogrphy insert -> lists TOC -> BibTex references in every
included document allow citations from BibTex ".bib" files (without
resorting to ERT)? This seems to be the only way for lyx to find the
