Hi!
I use LyX Version 1.04. I built it using the make file generated by
automake/autoconfig. It installed quite well. However, I have a small
problem but can't determine whether it is LyX's fault or something else.
Here are my specifications:
* the printer is a Hewlett Packard DeskJet 600; I'm
Hi,
I would obtain the follow line in math-mode, only in math mode, in the
.tex file:
\begin{equation}
\text{\Large{$ \varepsilon $}} ...
\end{equation}
This lines print a Large varepsilon only with the ams-math package.
LyX instead can't let me to stamp the '$' alone, but prefix the \, like:
I have tried the rpm package for 1.1.1pre2 from Sylvan and found that it
doesn't display itemize correctly. (Perhaps it doesn't allow the itemize
style.)
Good luck lyxing

I use for my dissertation the document style 'book (koma-script)'.
This is a standard document style in Lyx. You can select it (or the
style 'book') in Layout -> Do

First of all you should get LyX 1.0.4, lots of small bugfixes (and

Hi folks
I need a thesis style suitable for Lyx 1.0.1 and tetex-latex 0.9.2.
Despite of the fact I have downloaded UC-thesis style from
ftp.lyx.org:/pub/lyx/contrib it crashes when I try to see post scriptt, dvi
flies or when I ask it to be printed.
the error prints as follows:
!LaTeX error:
Are there any plans soon to generalize \cite to \citet and \citep etc.
(the forms supported in natbib)? The present form is very limited &
not standard for published articles in many fields (such as astrophysics!)

I have released the second prerelease for lyx-1.1.1, now most
installation issues have been resolved and we have a new feature:
- export as HTML
Other than that there are no new features compared to 1.0.4, code
cleanup is in progress and so far we have:
- migrated to useing automake in

I use Lyx for writing my master and I like it very much. Now I want to
use ttf fonts for my x screen and it works with xfstt realy good.
Maybe, if I use "-ttf-tahoma" in the screenfonts section from options,
the screenfont is now tahoma. But when I close and reopen lyx all

That is quite a difficult task as you will need to use MetaFont which is
not easy to learn. Your best bet is to ask in comp.text.tex if someone knows
where to find such font sets and then come back and ask how to use them :-).
I bet this isnt easy to implement in LyX.

what I do need is the support of non standard characters, ie these used by
calculators (casion g60, hp...)
They use small pictures I can copy in xpm or eps and I can insert them as
graphics, but it's really tedious for so small ones.
It would be very nice to have a "users symbols" menu similar to

Hello,
I was using lyx 1.0.3 (debian package) for some time. I have just tried to
export a lyx document in postscript. It used to work on 1.0.0 but this
time it failed. I then moved to 1.0.4 but the exportation did not work
either. It does work in dvi. I then have to run dvips by hand.

Can someone suggest why an un-numbered Chapter called "Preface", and my
