support for strange characters

what I do need is the support of non standard characters, ie these used by
calculators (casion g60, hp...)
They use small pictures I can copy in xpm or eps and I can insert them as
graphics, but it's really tedious for so small ones.
It would be very nice to have a "users symbols" menu similar to the math
one allowing to store array of small icons.
