In lyx I only can insert ps or eps images.
This is for example a problem when I use ps2pdf to convert the ps output to
pdf format.
Is there a way to insert different image formats directly in lyx and view
them in postscript preview?

The delay is most certainly TeX's generating its font files.
It's not the same delay the second time, is it?

I suggest you should have a look at the X Keyboard Extension protocol (XKbd) :
it's been developed by SGI, after all. This is a way to get your beloved
keybord map at a X session-level rather than on a per-application basis...
Hope this helps

Adding commands like

Hi,
I've got the following problem: I'm writing a scientific text with many
formulas. Now when I insert formulas into my text, sometimes they will
be splitted in half and displayed partly on one line and partly on the
line below.
How do I prevent lyx from breaking up formulas? With LaTeX, I coul

Alas! This was the problem. I had assumed that LyX would look for

Hi there,
Just found that it doen't work properly to copy a table with column
control like "@{}c". The control will appear in the column width
option in the copied table.
Again, the defined column width will not be copied to a new table.
Has anyone report it before?
Thanks,

The Mono switch is not of any use here. The switch is -depth or -visual,
AFAIR.
Or, as I wrote, try the "vncserver -depth 16" trick.
