Not hard, but needs patience.
Here is the procedure on Linux to install TeXLive 2008:
1) Download the netinstaller (e.g. in /tmp)
cd /tmp
wget

Hello,
I just chktexed my French translation of xypic and I was quite bored by this
behaviour: as soon as I go to the LyX window to correct an error, the selection
jumps back to the first line in the chktex window instead of staying located on
the current error. In addition, the first two warnings

hello,
We discussed this already (about the compilation of some manuals) here:

Using TexLive2009, the varioref problem occurs again when hyperref is not
activated (see bug http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/6420). The patch I proposed

Hmm, it does not seem to work, my test

OK, translation of the prettyref command works all right now with lyx2lyx, but I
get this in lyx (same message with the format 378 original doc or with the
lyx2lyx translated one):
LyX: Unknown parameter name `part:Test-part' for com

There is still a typo which prevents successful conversion: there should be a
closing " after vreference in line:
+document.body[k] = "reference + " \"" + prefix + "

I have no experience with that. As for single po files, e.g. lokalize
