As it turned out, pdfstartview did the trick. In particular, adding the
following line to the LaTeX Preamble:
\hypersetup{pdfstartview={XYZ null null 1.00}}
gives my compiled pdf files at the percent magnification I set in Adobe
Acrobat
I recently reported a regression that can be seen in the attached .lyx file.
There is no error from LaTeX when compiling from master, it is just that the
output is not as expected.

I am keeping an Ops handbook for my setup which runs to 600 pages.
I use the listings package to include config files and program listings
and the like, but you can't copy and paste these from the PDF, or rather
they are mangled to be quite useless.
