to set the
width at 3 inches. I can't figure out how to either 1) apply more than one
property (filename, width, lyxscale, etc) when the inset is created or 2)
change the properties after the inset is already in place.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I think that is right, but cannot confirm for sure since a bug called
"Sigsev" caused Lyx to crash on me so often that I moved to TexShop instead.
Best regards,

Thanks for all your hard work; if you guys didn't make LyX it I'm afraid
I'd have to try, and I'm not sure I'm quite smart enough to pull it off.

Any idea when this might be fixed? The comments in #2872 imply that the cause
and fix are both known.
Thanks!

Fair enough; sorry I don't have time to track down an exact recipe for
reproducing the problem.
sanda - Have you received my emails regarding fatal crashes, or do I need to
submit bug reports for those?

I am a newbie and I have been researching Japanese text layout and tex-variants.
I would like to suggest support for upTex. A new version of ptex being

While I think there are some great improvements in Lyx 1.6.0rc2, there
are some serious issues with regards to the bold font change ctrl-B.
For most mathematical documents, the convention is that a bold font on
a variable name represents a vector or a matrix. These should not be in
italics!
sed this features if
they are already in the current version--maybe some are in 1.4? Anyhow,
those are my thoughts as someone that uses LyX to right out and do math

I posted this bug some time ago on bugzilla:

Under Mac 10.4.2 and LyX 1.3.6, pasting from an external text editor

Bravo to you all for such a well-conceived piece of software.
A small bug in LaTeX generation in version 1.2.1:
If you include an external graphic and specify that its dimensions
should be less than 10% of some length unit (e.g., 5% of
textwidth) the generated LaTeX incorrectly specifies

Hello all,
I have been requested to send my problem table to the list. I have tried
simplifying it further but the problem doesn't always happen and there
would be a really large number of options.

I have made up a basic LyX layout file and template to support the
Elsevier preprint class (elsart.cls). They're online at

There are comments inside the files.
Thanks for LyX.

phic with lyx to
insert citations (using lyxpipe), it's important for me to only have one
lyx at a time, atleast for documents I'm changing.

Hi
LyX is great. Thanks to you lovely people!
One of the things I like about nedit is that you can open a new file in a
nedit window from the command line - without starting a new nedit process,
using the command:
nedit-nc -noask filename.txt
Now I was thinking it would be handy to do the same

Make of that what you will... :)
