Hi all, I've been using LyX for a couple of years now; I really see it as the proper implementation of the TeX abstraction from format; TeX itself seems to fall short of fulfilling its potential by forcing one to deal with markup instead of content. The abstraction of format seems like it should lead naturally to WYSIWYM editing, but TeX is stuck in markup land. LyX fulfills that potential perfectly for me, composing complex portable documents which typeset beautifully when the time comes.
I just wanted to submit my praise because today I was struggling with newly-noticed sluggishness and high CPU load when scrolling after upgrading to OSX 10.9. I despaired as LyX was becoming difficult to use comfortably, but as soon as I upgraded from 2.0.5 to 2.0.6 the sluggishness was completely remedied and I'm back to writing without a hitch. So whomever is responsible for fixing that up, great job! Thanks for all your hard work; if you guys didn't make LyX it I'm afraid I'd have to try, and I'm not sure I'm quite smart enough to pull it off. Cheers, Matthew Barnard
