It seems rather odd that the (random) temp directory name is the same both
times. Can you be more specific about your steps? When you double click the
LyX file, does it open correctly in LyX? Is it View > PDF (pdflatex) that
causes the error? When you start from a terminal, same questions: does

An open square or a filled black one? IMV, an open square is not worse than
"\leer" in ERT: both need explanation.
If we use it in our manuals, the

Dear all
Recently I discovered [1] that Qt can automatically use the native GTK
file chooser when the user is running Gnome (or Xfce) and
'qtconfig-qt4' is configured to use the 'GTK+' GUI style. I have
checked several Qt apps on my system, and some comply with this (that
is, they do pop the GTK ch

i thought Kornel kicked it out.p
Right-click a phantom. Notice that "Dissolve Inset" appear twice on the context
menu.
This also leads to annoying messages in the terminal, because the menu entry
shortcut conflicts with the shortcut for the other identical entry.

There are two sets of table menus. A context menu you get by right-clicking the
table, and
a dynamic menu that appear under the main menu "edit".
They have some of the same choices (multicolumn, add row, ...) but different
shortcuts.
Having the same shortcuts in both places would be better:

Start LyX, make a document, insert a table. Get these error messages:
QWidget::repaint: Recursive repaint detected
QPainter::begin: Widget painting can only begin as a result of a paintEvent
QPainter::setPen: Painter not active
The message repeats once if I click the table.
Nothing bad seems to

It would indeed, so this is not an option for 2.0.x.
