at my (slightly out of date) mirror you can find a css based www.lyx.org
http://www.koziarski.org/LyX/www-user/
All the formatting (on the front page at least, haven't fixed LDN or
/news.inc) is done with CSS instead of http://www.koziarski.org/LyX/www-user/?nocss=1
I'd appreciate any reports

My concern is more that many of the ridiculous quests relate to support
for an out-of-date toolkit or, lord help us, GUII.
Aren't these distractions interrelated?

Does anyone have any suggestions for this Redhat 7.1 user?
He is trying to build lyx from the SRPM and having problems.
He is using xforms-0.88-3 (I think!) with the following g++ version:
[root@elon Linux]# g++ -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/specs
gcc version 2.96

My LyX 1.1.6fix2 for Win32 does not seem to run bibtex at all after
the first latex run, although it runs latex for 3 times.
I had no problems inserting the bibtex references and citations, and
my .bib file is in the same directory as my .lyx file.
When I do a manual latex-bibtex-latex-latex seque

We waste resources on a lot of other ridiculous quests.
I'm surprised you are only bitching about the GUII stuff.
Come on, you can do better.

If you are attributing a preference to KDE to me, you're mistaken.

FWIW, I understand the criticism, I don't like XForms too much myself
but installing f.ex. KDE instead is just too much just to have kde-LyX
At least XForms is small as opposed to one of the giants that could
replace it. I'm well aware that we can do just Qt but then we still have

Hi all,
just a little question: why the versioning scheme of LyX is not as follows?
1.5.0 instead of 1.1.5
1.5.1 " 1.1.5fix1
1.5.2 " 1.1.5fix2
1.6.0 " 1.1.6
1.6.1 " 1.1.6fix1

this would take much more sense to me for the following reasons:
