Hello DevLyXppers,
I'm writting lost of mathematical equations with lyx, and there is a
feature which would be very useful for me (and for other I think.)
When i write equation, I stick the math panel and other useful panel on
the desktop, but, if I switch to another open document, the panels

LyX could be a useful part of a free operating system if only it could
run without XForms. Is there any chance you could modify it to use a
free toolkit--perhaps GTK?
I know that is probably not an easy job. But LyX will probably be
around for years, and in the fullness of time, this will be a
Hello,
There is a feature change that I would like to suggest, comments are asked
for if this will improve or reduce from LyX.
LyX has the ability to monitor changed files, even those files that are
not directly generated by LyX, say for example a class file, if it gets
installed in between late

More clues about it :
- my problem seems to occure only with the AMS Book class
- following

seems to cure the problem

Hello, Vitor.
You wrote that (1) you'd like LaTeX/LyX conversion to be better, and
(2) you'd like a description of what constructs not to use.
Please try "man reLyX", which is a long man page that describes exactly
what reLyX can and can't handle. (See also the BUGS document in the reLyX

Hi,
I'm attaching the promised documentation to the -userdir feature.
I wasn't sure about something:
This feature allows having several personal configuration directories
(similar to ~/.lyx). In this case I'd probably like to have the layouts,
docs and similar sub-directories in them be symbolic

Hellow!
I'd like to leave here some
suggestions for future developments
of LyX.
Before that, let me just encourage
you all: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!
LyX is just GREAT for someone who uses
LaTeX a lot, like me.
I'm a mathematician and I simply would
like LyX to be even more practical

Hi all!
Using the weekend to work on the update of the german docs, I stepped
across some more bugs in LyX 1.1.5pre3. Don't know wether some of them
have already been reported, nevertheless here they go:
1 Something is strange with the tabulars. In de_Extended.lyx I had a
table (end of
Is this a bug?
Use the latest rpm sunday May 28 18.00 from Sylvans site.
Did the following
1. installed a new stylefile mylayout.sty in
/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/misc
2. run texhash
3. installed a new layout according to the instructions in chapter 6
customization.
