I could offer SuSE 6.0, both with 2.0.36 and 2.2.0pre7 if this is of any
help. But I certainly need an idiot proof how-to ;-)
Perhaps a 'rpm'-target in the Makefile?

Hi everyone,
Here's the latest word on the official LyX RPM.
Mate and I took the discusion offline and worked out what the best
system would be.
We came up with the following:
The lyx.spec file generates two relocatable packages:
1) The lyx-{version}.rpm is the basic LyX software. This packag

This "LyX doesn't update" problem was fixed a while ago. It was a
problem with the previous public release. Make sure you have the
latest LyX.

RH 6.0.
We need to find somebody who would compile the rpm on a 5.2 box. He
should be instructed to always change the release by appending a rh5
to it like
Release: 1rh5
Our 5.2 boxes will be taken down in the near future...

I believe Mate's xforms RPMs should work fine, or the ones from my ftp

P.S. Mate and I have been hashing out a new spec file and soon will
have "official" LyX RPMs available (which I will continue to maintain)

Sorry to keep on with the Redhat saga, but are there binary rpms available
for xforms/lyx for Redhat 6.0 (glibc2.1)? I have been trying quite a few
combinations, but keep getting segfaults...
Thanks,

This one seems to be good (for glibc 2.0 at least).
Then I will upload the binary rpm to ftp.lyx.org.

Yes it is actuallt not distributed by redhat, but in contrib. And as
far as I know, this one is libc5.

I just put a renamed xforms rpm on my ftp site. I believe that it is

Please try it out:

You could find a good rpm at ftp://moni.msci.memphis.edu/pub. While it

existing rpm first!
So how should I rename this rpm?

found.
PHP3 can use , we should use
