Their chabger is written im Gambas as it seems. (a visual basic clone for
linux). What it does is just copying over config files (for LXDE) and changing
gsettings (for the gnome session).

You need to configure it before playing back midi. As not every PC has a midi capable soundcard you need to configure a soundfont in audacious.

So technucally its not a bug but a configuration thing. Setting the config to
not cache should solve this.

My worst-case fall-back would be to switch to Ubuntu Studio 12.04 for
everything (not just audio-production). That is a long-term-support release,
so it will last a long t
As I said before a known optical bug only resize the window and it should
appear again. Bug is known in upstream
