As a tester I can only try to point out problems. The rest is not really my
concern. Do as you wish.

PS: I'm Erick at that bug report and I feel that I've already added adequate
info.

If this is just the end of support for most hardware that's more than five
years old then it needs to be said loudly and clearly.

knowledgeable enough to try and nail down the problem.
I can't help but feel that posts like this are trying to scapegoat the testing
community while the real problem lies with design and development :^(

I doubt it's plymouth. It almost surely has to do with the mechanism put in
place when Ubuntu itself dropped unity-2d and metacity in favor of using compiz
+ llvmpipe.
I can understand Ubuntu dropping support for 5 to 7 year old graphics chips,
but not Lubuntu or Xubuntu ;^)

Phill would know much more about that than I do. So I wonder if we've included
Julien in this conversation yet?
IMHO any bug that has a potential of resulting in data loss is critical so we
need to give it the absolute highest priority.

g should display the appropriate upgrade message?
That other initial boot error is nothing to really worry about but should it be
mentioned in the release notes?
Sorry to be a pain,

Just thought to add:
I may not have time to do the amd64 PP -> QQ upgrade test though. It'll be a
back burner issue for me ;^(
Lance
PS, it's purely a time availability issue.

Hi Greg,
with all the respins, the table looks a bit barren. ppc-alter
ot; so I end up with a blank screen.
And It took three installs for me to figure out what was biting me in the butt
;^)
I'm loath to file a bug against that behavior because it truly is a corner
issue, I mean how many of of use a KVM switch?
As Greg said, I'll test until my eyes close,
