Hi, there is much mis understanding about swap. Every one *seems* to think it is only used when physical RAM is exhausted. it is *NOT*. Linux will use swap to 'swap out' areas that are not being actively used according to their "swappiness" I give you one simple example from my server. Mem:

I'm saying this just personally, not with any backup... But, my brother's camera is a 'silly' pixel size (10 G) Try open that on a computer with 8G that has no swap I suspect it may fail. When I open them in raw format on my 4G machine... swap (and I mean hard drive swap as well) gets REAL

I don't get your Problem Ali. I thought you tested out zram and I explained how it technicaly worked. If the unamed Community you are working together with still does not see the benefit then they maybe don't know what you are talking about and simply don't understand the technical background.

Hi Ali, as your motto staes, all of us are smarter than one. If any team from any linux distro finds Z-RAM to be useful - it is for them to test and then add it if it proves useful. Just the same as it is for, say, each distro to choose their default browser :) I hope that puts your mind at rest,

Hi, z-RAM is a part of lubuntu desktop, it has been found to be useful and will continue to be a part of lubuntu until such time as its usefulness is gone (i.e. goes unsupported / has a major bug). As to it getting into the alternate for a try out before feature-freeze; that is for the devs to dec
