Hi Shlomi,
I have a few ideas:
The simplest solution, IMHO, is to install sndconfig (a util on the first CD).
I was always able to fix sound card problems with that utility.
I have noticed that GNU/Linux distros can't keep up with Intel's ICH arch. Try
researching the Intel site.

if you have another sound card in the box, maybe /dev/dsp is set to the other

2. You seem to run ALSA. Try to play with a native player (xine, mplayer) an

I can only guess. Since you get a socket timeout, maybe you have a
reverse routing problem (check the rou
I seem to have this problem reaching actcom.co.il sub domains unelss I

I don't have any problem accessing other sites in Israel. e.g.
ynet.co.il, walla.co.il etc.
Rebooted my machine into windows which seem to be able connect using a
non-israeli proxy.
my machine shows:
I've seen somewere in up2date or rhn configs that there are both
"http" and "https" (or "secure" and "non-secure") options, maybe you
can try telling rhn to use the http protocol?
I haven't found how to tell rhn to do this, but I guess it can be done.
