Can someone point me to the command/call system which is
used on Linux for making a ram disk ?
(I think that it may be something related to temporary file sytem)
Thank you in advance

You're missing the obvious. You need to export all the filesystems under

reside on two different partitions, disks, and so on, by exporting `/' you
didn't export `/usr/local/'.

funny, but into /usr/local i CAN get into... i can get into anything under
/ except for mounts that reside in another phisical disks.. (hdb and hdc)
everything else - works.

Hi,
Sorry to disturb you again, but I still need some
help, It seams that the ALSA drivers did not make the
trick or that I'm missing some thing. Actually my
situation got worse after installing ALSA.
What I did is :
1) Compiled a kernel (2.2.5-15) which has the "Sound
card support = Y" and ever

Don't know what you read there - but ALSA doesn't use OSS support at all.
You can, however, compile sound as module (and I don't think
1. compile alsa with oss support
2. load the oss modules. (snd-pcm-oss,snd-mixer-oss), load
them before the soundcard module.
3. compile alsa-utils, and use alsamixer to turn your sound on (make sure
all the channels are on. all of them are muted by default)

Hello Eran
the gateway thing (Masquerading & Forwarding) is in fact ipchains' job. I
guess that your firewalling script first cleans ipchains rules (so it
'disconnects' the other computers from the internet), and then putting the
firewall thing.
another possibility is that there is an ipchains r
