1. No V.92 support yet
2. No FAX yet

I had the same problem, and found my solution at lamir(lamir.co.il),
I bought a 56K(V.90) PCI modem and it works with linux great(using the serial
driver).
It's name is ZOOM 2920.

Do post the output of
setserial -ga /dev/ttyS[0-4]
setserial is controlled either by command line or config file. On my Debian
machine the config file is /etc/serial.conf. Do post yours.

I had a similar problem with my internal modem which under windows
is COM3 and under Linux ttyS2. I grabbed irq 5 for the modem and everything
started working. Try running (as root):
