Maybe you got that error because your spelling was incorrect (lilipondtool
vs. lilypondtool)
If that was not the reason, you can also install it from within jEdit, by
going to the Plug-in Manager and selecting it from the list and clicking
on Install (IIRC).

the Bezier Tool for tweaking slurs doesn't seem to be very accurate.
I attached a PNG where you can see an overriden slur with the same values as
marked by the handles.

I don't know why LPT overrides user-defined encoding settings;
besides, I've just noticed that it also saves every file with \r\n
EOLs, whereas I need to use \n endings.
Also check Utitilites>Global options>General for the default line ending

My webserver is Linux, but my laptop where I use LilyPond is Windows XP.
For those of us on Windows, the location is C:\Program Files\jEdit
After making sure you are upgraded to the latest release of jEdit. The
LilyPondTool files go into the subfolders \jars and \modes.

Just open in LilypondTool the Plugin Manager, got to install, a list of
pluings will be downloaded and you can install the Lilypond plugin.

Plugin Options > Sidekick > "Accept characters for completion" >
delete the firs
Your items (ie. command definitions) are automatically added to the list.
I'm afraid you can not make the spacebar not do an autocomplete. It's my
fault. I'll fix it in the next release. Use ESC before pressing space
for those. Sorry.

Start by installing one of the earlier versions of jEdit -- I used pre9, but it
probably works the same for pre11.

I went back to the bundled version from the Lilypond Tool page. It contains
jEdit 4.3pre9. Now everything works fine again.
