Hi,
Does anyone know how to manually set the midi channel # for a staff to
something other than the default of channel 0/1? Without having to
create dummy staffs with just `s256` as the voice content preceding the

I wonder if someone would explain the purpose of the pound signs when
indicating measurements?
For example, this seems to work:
system-system-spacing #'padding = .8
But I often see examples with # marks like:
system-system-spacing #'padding = #2
Thanks!

ber of the examples use the dot. Also, the "\omit"
function is not recognized by my versions (was using version 12.4, but
updating to the most recent stable version has the same problem).

Is it possible for Lilypond to print page numbers in the format "Page 'x' of

dug around trying to find an example of this but haven't had any luck.

A technique/hack I got from one of Sven's tunes.
\repeat volta 2 {

Exactly, so the root of the poblem is that this doesn't work:
book {
parta = { ... }
partb = { ... }
score { parta partb header{ ... } }
}
or, slightly more general case:
book {
parta = { something1 }
partb = { something2 }
score { parta partb header{ ... } }
parta = { something3 }
partb = { s
thing works fine except for set_one.ly. I tried putting the
variable defs inside score but that didn't work. It works if I don't
use variable, but I rely heavily on using variables. Any ideas?

So it is like this (letter = bar):
A B C D
A B C E
F B C D
A B C E
And I want (number indicates repeat):
1
2 12
43 34
AF B C DE
And, how can I do this (middle measure repeats):
12
A B CD E
I know how to do alternate endings, but not anything else.
