glissando up from no note to a note

I want to make a glissando go up from no note to a note. I tried using a spacer note, it didn't work. I tried using hideNote and unHideNote (basically reversed the sample in the snippets list) but it just resulted in messed up measures. There is no example in the documentation on how to do this
