I have tried several eps-files here (LilyPond 2.7.11 Windows native, Windows XP, Ghostscript 8.15) here, none of them worked. LilyPond in some cases produced ps files, but production of pdf never worked. I cannot view the ps files with gsview (only a short flash, so I can see there *is* the file

Ah -- found it: /Applications/LilyPond.app/Contents/Resources/share/lilypond/2.6.3/scm/ paper.scm That's a mouth full. There is a definition for bottommargin that is set to 6mm, which is a little shy of the 1/4 inch usually recommended for printer margins. I also see a topmargin set to 5

OK -- I verified that -sPAPERSIZE="letter" is appearing on the gs line, and Acrobat reader reports 8.5x11, as I mentioned previously. Printing A4 on Letter with scaling results in wider margins at the right and left, since a4 is longer than letter. This is default behavior on Mac OS. Not sca

Just open the PDF file in Acrobat and check the page size (File -> Document properties). For letter size scores, it should say 8.50 x 11.0 inch (at least if you configured Acrobat to use inch). If that's OK, check the Print setup in Acrobat and make sure that it doesn't try to print on A4 and scal

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you tried. If I understand you correctly, the problems you reported first with missing font symbols for text fonts, was when you tried the Cygwin installation. Right? Then, you tried the non-cygwin version and got the error message you included below, right?
