I not sure that this solution would be much different
than what I'm doing now...the counter phone rings and
the back office phone does not. The call ends up (if
unanswered) in the counter phone vmail which is where
the owner wants it to go.

I've never used a TA, But can you enable slt ring at the counter and install
an slt bell/chime paired for the counter phone at the pro shop location?
Then, pro shop will hear ring also and can cover the counter, but on RNA it
will drop into the counter phone mailbox..
