Hi Mike,
Thanks for the kind words. The seat backs actually raise up allowing access
to storage. They are hinged on the top of thew seat back. BTW i just found
your email in my spam for some reason so I made sure you will not go in

I too had this style trim tab on my aileron. The way I mounted mine was with 3M
double sided tape and I put over 500 hours flight time on it and it never
loosened up. Mounting it this way is just another way to reduce a little drag.

The double sided 3M tape I used is their 444 tape. To adjust the angle of my
trim tab, it could simply be removed by using dental floss under the edge of

Hi all,
I used Trymer 2000xp on my first build (N886MJ) to do the wing tips and in a
few other areas. I had absolutely no reservations with this foam. It works
easily just as the KR Foam. If I had located the Trymer prior to foaming the
rest of the plane, I would have used it for everything. Plu
Also, I forgot to mention that I got the Trymer 2000xp for FREE. I found a
manufacturer that uses it in their products. They usually have a cut off pile
of scrap Trymer and just might give it to you.
I was able to get pieces that were about a foot thick which made excellent wing
tips.

Last night we completed the aileron installation on both wings. WunderBird
could actually fly now except for a set back we discovered this morning.

I too am in the market for insurance. Global , even with my flight experience in a KR and never had an issue in 560 KR hours, quoted me a whopping $895 year just for liability. On my first KR, I only paid $300 year for liability coverage with Falcon. I’m waiting to hear back from them on a quote. M

I am at that stage of high speed taxi testing. I thought I had my brakes
corrected from the insufficient performance during my first taxis. I went as
far as buying new Matco cylinders and installing those. Went for taxi test
yesterday and the brakes are still out of whack. I have determined the
Let’s reiterate on this. I have done both high speed taxi tests with wings on
and wings off. If you are doing this wings off, remember that the stub wings
create enough lift to pull you off the runway without ailerons. Be careful out
there.

I want to update everyone on what is going on with me and my KR2S. Life’s
changes have caught up to me and I have had to make some serious changes in my
life. We are now living in Florida and the cost of living here is about double
what it was in Wisconsin. I was paying $112 for a huge t-hangar
I'm hesitant to rely on the 'facet' type electric pump - they look kind of
flimsy & if the pump stops the engine quits...
This statement is not necessarily true. Back in the early days of my KR2S
flying with my EFS-3 Corvair engine I had a complete pump failure due to a
broken ground wire. B

The new owner who lives near me had been doing several modifications such as
installing dual controls, adding a gascolator, installed a right left fuel
selector as in a Cessna, new brake masters and rebuilt front axle

The front was rebuilt and the nut was taken off. The guy who did it said he
tightened the nut to firm stop then backed off a half turn. It does swing
very freely. I had a suspicion that might be the case.
