Reading Dana's learned dissertation, I picked up one point... If your
medical is not current, but you HAVEN'T BEEN DECLINED, then don't ask/ don't
tell. Do not apply for a class 3. Lay in the weeds and wait. Then say
you're "golden" WHEN THE SP RULES ARE IN EFFECT.

Ron, that's just what I've decided to do. My Dr. said it might do away with my
2nd class m edical. I'm just going to let it expire next month and wait. He's
not an examiner just my dr. And he might be wrong anyway--just won't take the
chance.

It has been a long time, but when I was an airline pilot, there were pilots
who lost their medicals. They sometimes had to go to a good aviation
medical examiner and, maybe an appropriate attorney, but most of them got
back after a year or two, even with heart attacks. Go to google.com. enter
