I have been priming my plane with "Smooth Prime" and unfortunately I have found
a few minor areas that will require a little touch-up micro. Too big to fix
with future priming and blocking prior to final paint. Is there a problem to
apply micro over "Smooth Prime"? Any special prep to i
You could use Super Fil which is another product made by PolyFiber. Using a
resin based filler, could, I emphasize, could, make it harder to sand than the
Smooth Prime, thus, making it harder to get the smoothness you are after.

In my experience there is not. Just color sand with 320 or 400 and go ahead
with the final prep. should work out okay.

but it wasn't cheap back then either. I don't recall how much it
took but certainly not the three gallon it suggest in the ad

Paul, have you tried Tap Plastics "surface curing agent"? Fiberlay.com makes
a premixed fiber/vinyl ester putty like mix. I found it extremely useful when I
was building my fuel tanks

Neal, NOT a slurry., that would be too resin wet, adding unnecessary weight
and it will be difficult to sand. A creamy peanut butter consistency works
best for me. I use 4" wide by three" squeegees made from scrap vinyl
siding...for spreading.

Glad manufacturers resealable plastic containers that are perfect for mixing
micro. They are flexible enough so that when you're done you can pop the
hardened micro out of the bowl and use them again. The ones that I have used
