Larry; I loved my EAA chapter in Sacramento! We built a large hangar at the
airport for members. They taught this city boy how to lay out a foundation
slab, on top of all the airplane fun. The Gallipolis OH chapter was a treat
too, last summer when I test flew my Osprey...they have a hangar full

me. EAA was squeaky clean, mid-western, Republican, family values, and they
started beating the "FAA is big bad government" drum, like the NRA,
We have at least a half a dozen aircraft being built in my EAA Chapter,
and we also do Young Eagles twice per year, and we put on a fly-in as
well. In the winter months we usually have at least one safety seminar,
and in the summer months we often have our meetings at a builder's shop
to check
I /think /that the EAA losing it's way is just a symptom of this
culture/society we've built (or evolved into?)
At work it's "Safety Safety" - everybody _says_ it's for concern about
worker's health and well being, but
I think it's all about lawsuits and the possibility of bad publicity. A

then why bother.? At this point the only reason I stay a member is the magazine
and discount to OSH.? If I wanted to hang out and tell stories I go down to the
