On my KR2 project i am missing the pitot tube and am not sure where they mount
them on the KR? No sign of any previous openings in the wings, possibly on the
belly? and
Put one of these under the leading edge of the left wing outside the prop
blast. The pitot tube opening must face forward and be in undisturbed air.
Static opening will be sideways to the air flow. (But, you already know
that.)

The plans call for 1/4" aluminum tubing, bent to face into the
airstream, normally mounted at the outboard edge of the stub wing.
Pitot tube is open on the end, and the stat

end, wouldn't this have significantly less drag? And if so,
The transmitter is what dies if the antenna is either missing or badly
mismatched.

Mine too I guess. My occasional jumpy readings are due to a dirty
transponder antenna just as I thought. It's right in th

I've done that test, as I've moved my static port from the wing to the back
of the fuselage to the interior of the plan
Reading the excellent treatise on making a pitot-static system raised a
question in my mind. In the article the author refers to the effects of
taking static pressure from the interior of the cockpit. I do that with
my encoder and although my read-outs always closely match my actual
altitude, es
Paul, I like your approach. What does the AOA tube attach to? I know many
of the "glass" cockpit systems have that as a feature. How are you using
(or going to use) it?
Great way to keep it out of the way of pedestrian contact. I was a bit
concerned about that with many I have seen.

Hi Phil, this is how I did it, brass tubing from hobby store.. Incorporated
AOA probe as well.
Not the simplest though.

Go to the local hardware store and get a length of the light weight

Look at the second picture under the wing, on your right. The pitot tube on
our new plane will be a little farther out, for no particular reason. The
one you will be look at, worked well and is out of the way of anyone walking
by.
