Go to the local hardware store and get a length of the light weight 1/4 inch aluminum tubing. Build the pitot and static according to the plans. It works reliably and is extremely accurate. Pick up the very tiny drill bit while you're there to drill the holes in the static tube. Epoxy a small round head screw in the opening of the static tube but make sure the head is exactly the same diameter as the tube or put a piece of dowel in the tube and round the lead edge.
