Exactly, though I can understand the lure of not adding the extra insturments with so limited space in the KR, in my other plane I have a 3pack and my digital. THough another pilot builder stoped by and said that unless I put in a mechanical gyro I would not be able to get it IFR. I couldn't find a

Take a look at the RV12, which has some sort of certification in the LSA category. It has NO "steam gauges". I kept my Airspeed as it is the most critical (in my opinion). I have a IFly720 with a backup battery, a Dynon D10-A with a backup battery, and an AnyWhere Map Quadra with a battery. So,

Got the verbal determination from the Washington FSDO Inspector that my Dynon D10A EFIS needs a mechanical air speed indicator and a wet compass for backup for my day/night VFR operations in my KR-2. Don't need a backup altimeter. Airworthiness Inspection is postponed until I get the ASI and
