I have a mosler ans there is a collar similar to yours but no screws (good
idea by the way) it houses an oil seal for the crankshaft
The collar is held in place with with JB WELD
This the way that the engine manual says to do it
I assume that you would have to pull the collar forward after breaking
Can you send pictures of the full perimeter at the split line. Also both
