I have a mosler ans there is a collar similar to yours but no screws (good idea by the way) it houses an oil seal for the crankshaft The collar is held in place with with JB WELD This the way that the engine manual says to do it I assume that you would have to pull the collar forward after breaking the bond and the collar stays on the crank , to free the crankcase Any other info email or phone me BOB Lalonde boblal1941 at gmail.com 604-220-0460
