Hi to both of you,
Seems both KR2's and KR2S's are suddenly becoming more popular here in the
UK. That's very good news.
By the way John, I'm 30 miles south of Glasgow !
Good luck to both of you with your projects.

Phil Matheson has asked me to let KRnetters in Europe know that he can be
contacted on a new mobile number, 07985968592, while he his here in the UK.
Anyone trying to contact him and having problems, please email me off-net
and I'll try to relay it to him.

I've emailed you yesterday on both your new and old email addresses, it
seems you can send but not receive... It's not going into an antispam
folder is it ?

Hi Serge
I had similar problems until I cleared the memory ( see p46 of manual ) and
then started over again. Check the time and date are correct also,
otherwise the units sometimes can't match the received data with what it
expects to find. Once a couple of satellites are tracked though for sa
Not sure if anyone else got the same "=20" throughout Phil Brookmans'
message yesterday, and I realise they are ascii control characters, but I'm
suspecting that some of my emails are being 'intercepted' and I also have
strange phone problems at times. Some investigation on the internet has led
Hi Serge
When the GPS is trying to establish itself it needs to consider satellites
that may be below it's normal limit of elevation so it really is helpful to
ensure you place the unit in a wide open space. Afterwards it's not's so
critical as it will choose those which are higher.

Hi Serge
Unfortunately I no longer have the 315 but have gone ( backwards ) to a
300. During the initialisation the receiver is collecting ephemeris data, a
bit like fine tuning itself to the satellite. But it's not the strength of
the signal itself that is important at this stage, it's more abo

I have a KR2 that would have been built about the time these plans were
out. If I buy a new set won't I lose the original spec's relating to how
mine was built ? Any amendments would be very useful to look at , I agree,
but do the new plans still incorporate notes relating to earlier versions

Hi John
I have a well built ie light, trigear KR2, and with 2 adults and a small
fuel load reach our UK limit of 900 lbs mauw. Take off is l-o-n-g, and
that's from a hard surface. Climb performance is poor, 150 ft/min, and
landings are ok but you aware that your 'heavy'. And this is with an 1835

Hi Brian
Not sure if the Zenith carb is the same wherever you are as it would be
here in the UK, where it is, or at least was, a popular carb found in many
cars, sometimes also known as the Stromberg CD and sometimes mistaken for
the SU, both of which are on many aero VW engines.
Both can be identi

it looks like. Are you ruling out building and flying it under PFA rules in
the UK ?
Perhaps a guy to contact would be Colin Hayles, who flew his KR2 from the
UK to Australia, and is currently co-ordinating modifications and drawings
for UK KR2 aircraft in the UK.

Hi All
Have come across a photo of a tri-gear KR2 ( photo was taken in Mount
Vernon, Texas, but the aircraft may have been only visiting) registered as
N28GT.
Does anyone on KRNet own this particular aircraft ? The reason is that from
wing tips shown on the photo I believe that I have the same wing
Surprised ( and disappointed ) no one has replied to this question, I'm
also looking to start next week on a trailer project for a KR2 tri-gear,
and would welcome advice from those that have been there already.
Especially if you have some good idea's on how to winch up the plane on to
the trailer
Hi All
Has anyone tried to produce a realistic model of a KR2 or KR2S, more so in
handling terms than looks, rendition for either Microsoft's Flight
Simulator or X-Plane ? I'm interested to experiment and do 'what if's' with
a simulator version, and would like to know if anything already exists
