Mike, as someone who very recently bought a fixer-upper as a first house, I can
tell you firsthand how much it means for my dad to spend his time on this house
with me. I don't take that for granted, and I'm sure your son doesn't either.
As a side note, my house came with a worn-out barn I've b
To anyone who’s interested, I found the diaphragm/gasket set used in the
Ellison EFS-2 throttle body. The part number is DG-3HL, and I found a lot of
small engine/chainsaw repair places had it for sale, as well as Amazon.

Roger,
I went ahead and ordered that one. It showed up today, and appears to
be much too large for the EFS-2; probably fits the EFS-3. I’m going to try and
make it to my local tractor and auto parts store and see if their catalogs have
dimensions. The Tillotson HD diaphragm set has an o
Hey all, I have the accessory case from a HAPI engine with a bottom-mount
starter, as well as the flywheel and alternator setup to go with it for sale.
The flywheel ring gear got chewed up so I removed it, but aside from some
superficial scratching everything looks to be in good shape. These cam
Noel,
It’d be a shame if that boat really isn’t up to snuff. I might have
someone else take a look at it before you write it off, because that’s a big
step backwards. Your KR is right about where mine was when I purchased it, and
I think a lot of builders run out of steam at about that

Thanks for the responses about the pushrod tubes - since I have both already,
I’ll start with the accordion style and see how they do.
What should I be shooting for as far as propellor orientation to the
crankshaft? My crankshaft/prop hub don’t have any kind of indexing marks, so I
have nothin
I’m close to starting the reassembly of my engine, and I’ve purchased a number
of parts to replace things that looked worn to me. One such item was a set of
pushrod tubes… however, now that I’m looking at them, I’m wondering if the old
ones really need to be replaced. The new ones are the accord
Alright, I’m having a little difficulty sourcing main bearings. I’m working
with a Mosler 2180, and the 4th bearing is actually longer and thinner than the
4th bearing I’m seeing in just about every available set. Pictures of my
bearings are here:

Hey all, I finally got the prop hub off my crankshaft. Noticed something
interesting - there’s no keyway to align the prop hub. Is anyone else running a
setup like that? Should that be a red flag, or a reason to consider just
starting with a new crankshaft and prop hub?
