...Tim,
It might be TOO simple; but might I suggest that you check your horizontal
stab incidence to your wing stubs chordline. If it is over about three
degrees, you have a large problem..

..Tim, et al,
What I ment to say was.. You need at least three degrees negative,
or you have a problem. If it is POSITIVE, you have a BIG problem...

.have just rejoined the net. I did not see the original post on
rivets; but there are lots of planes flying around with pop rivets holding
them together..Teenie2, Zenair, Sonex; just to name a few. But if you
are talking about pop riveting metal to woodFORGET IT!!!
KRJerry
Mark,
The pop rivets would hold the steel and hinge together quite well, but I
would not count on them holding the assembly to the wooden bulkhead. My
vote is for the SCREWs..!!!
Keep on keepng on,

50 or 75 ohm, (58 or 59 or will the new RG6 work?)
>>>>>>> Larry,
You will want to use RG58 (50ohm)

. However, you could back-up the
plywood by placing an angle or a flat doubler behind
the plywood to make a sandwich. That way you don't
have the
roll in the back of the store.
Don't get the pre packaged stuffit costs more.
Jim Weir, who built the antennas for Voyager (12 of em) and antenna Guru in
general, uses the Radio Shack stuff and sez he can't tell any diffrence in
performance.

Navigator Dan may have been lost, but I knew exactly where we were; between
Rough River, KY and Faifield County, SC. We did have to clean out the right
front seat (Navigator(?) Dan's) when we landed...
A GOOD time was had by all though!!

Thanx Mark,
We finally received a V/C compass from Aircraft Spruce after a three month
back order. We looked it over and sent it back
Let's just say that it did not meet our expectations.

Netters.
Have any of you guys looked at drawing a vacum from your exhaust.?
After the Wannabee gets into the air we are going to look into it again. We
have both considered it before on other planes..

even at that, it takes a pretty big battery (and alternator) to pull
that inverter. Looks like weight and CG considerations have gone
out the window.

sorry. Did not intend to sound so crass. I have just been watching
grams and ounces of weight in pursuit of performance. But 47# is more than
one of the Wannabee's wings weigh. I guess if you want it all and you
are willing to pay the penalty that is your choice.
