I tried the mesh between two gaskets back in the 70's on my car. Remember when
Auto gas was getting so high. Turned out it was a great place for ice to build
up under the carb. Blocked it so bad all it would do was idle then it would
stall out as the ice melted and drained down the manif
He's so cute when he's riled.

2 foot pieces scarfied on.
1 foot for the 2s 1 foot extended
With the scarfs running in opposite directions and
the spruce ply web covering both sides I think
this will be plenty strong. The original use foam
and a couple of layer of glass.
