Hi Ron If you imagine the dihedral bend in the front spar( "5) beginning in the middle of the stub spar not at the WAF which is what I want to do the bend will be 5/8 or .625 the height of the longeron when it passes that point (15" from center a 30" overall width) no sweat there it will fit nicely. The end of the spar will end up right where it is supposed to, in the outer rib.
The rear spar instead of beginning it's forward travel at the WAF ( destroying the area you would need for more flap area) begins at the point it exits the fuselage. It will end up at the exact same point in the outermost rib, with the exact same twist. The rear spar will also pick up it's dihedral bend inside the fuselage not at the WAF it will need a just a tad more room as it needs to raise 5 5/8" it will be.7" as it passes the lower longeron. I will need to shave .1" off the bottom of the spar where it rests on the floor of the fuselage. I do not believe that will hurt its structural strength. All this is to get rid of the dog leg at the rear of the wing so I can add a bunch more flap area. The trailing edge will be strait as an arrow from the fuselage to the wing tip. Holding the 5" front dihedral and 5 5/8" in the rear spar. Not near as complicated as it sounds. And yes I will loose a small amount of wing area, very small. I hope this give you a better picture of what I had in mind. I will require a dihedral bend and one that sweeps it forward. My thought is to put the dihedral bend inside and make the bend forward just as it leaves the fuselage. Again top and bottom at the same time in the same jig one on top of the other. Ron Smith wrote: I don't know what you are talking about here. The rear spar is NOT swept forward in the center section. It sweeps forward in the outboard section.
