OK OK I do not post here much....at all ...hardly ever...A LURKER I have started the Corvair engine project.....11 months ago it went idle.... I need to get that up and going again..... Because? Well....My excuse is lack of a place to build...I guess... As soon a the spring weather dries up I will have a barn built 24 X 40 and get started..... Yes I will.....((I will !!)).... Oh really why? I will retire in April and have no excuses after that.....full time KR/Corvair.
Now, why I am here today. I have built many model aircraft wings out of foam. Much beyond 4 feet hot wiring will start to sag and become useless. I just came across a wire that is rough with a diamond coating. A light came on. What if one where to use this wire, in a frame make it reciprocate and slowly draw it (like a hot wire) through the foam. Yes a perfect smooth contour no sanding . Or make a band saw type arrangement two pulleys spring loaded......maybe Will the wire load up and not cut? I don't know. I am asking for you thoughts Thought I would order some and see what I could make out of it. It's not expensive. Gary
