I sloshed the safe-T-poxy resin composite tanks on my or with the Bill Hirsch slosh compound sold by Aircraft Spruce. I ran mogas in it for 24 years and never had any issues. A very thin coating is sufficient. There is no reason for thick coatings. You will also hear horror stories about slosh
One KR builder/ friend, used a sloshing compound in his KR fuel tank,
and I got to feel it's weight. I can tell you I think it weighed more
than my Kr wing with an antenna, fuel tank vent hose, and pitot /
static hoses installed. It appeared to be 3/16 inch thick at the fuel
cap opening. Do you wan
Hi Sid. I built my fuel tank with vinylester also. My plane got water
in the tank( Gas cap seal broke )during a 5 day move from Montana to
Ohio. After emptying the 100 low lead from the tank, I used auto gas
from a can for my mower, to rinse out any remaining water. In drying

I have had good luck with the KBS product on metal and fiberglass fuel tanks on
ground vehicles.
I am SUPER nervous of doing any of them on untested surfaces!
If the tank is used and not factory fresh - there is no telling what kind of
contaminate and surface conditions you might be trying to a
HI does anyone have experience with the liquid coating that allows use
of any fuel you pour it in and slosh it around to coat the inside of
a tank even if it is aluminumtom

The problems won;t happen immediately. The alcohol has a tendency of
playing havoc with fiberglass (seams were delaminating). I had to do major
repairs to my varieze fuel tanks because I put in 100LL with alcohol.
My suggestion is that there are gas stations that 100LL does not have
alcohol. In NY

N133RM has the original RR fiberglass fuel tank installed in 1993. Roy
placarded the tank as "100LL ONLY".
I don't know how it was used before I got it. For over 2 years and 130 hours
I've used 100LL and recently a mixture of 90% 100LL & 10% Alcohol-free premium
gas. No problems here...

Cured Vinyl ester resin is advertised to be ethanol proof. However, ethanol
with 6-percent water is a solvent for cured Vinyl ester resin. Ethanol is
hydroscopic; In vented aircraft fuel tanks the ethanol contained in most
automotive fuels will draw water vapor from the air at the top of the t

When building fiberglass tanks, don't skimp on the resin and end up with
pinholes / small leaks
