I have pulled the prop hub by using a puller and applying some decent
pressure then smacking the end of the puller shaft with a hammer. It has
never caused any damage and the prop hub pops pops right off. I did this a
number of times when setting up the engine I am currently using. I also used

I’ve worked on a Great Plains VW before. I have also made up my own hub, prop,
and bearing with an oil seal for my VW. The owner gave it to me in boxes after
he’d torn it down. He couldn’t figure out how to put it back together. It was a
2100 cc.

I have had to remove my force one hub on my 1835 Turbo VW a couple of times in
the past.
I built a puller out of .25 inch steal that had the prop hub bolt pattern on
one end and a hole in the center large enough for the hydraulic jack ram to fit
against the hub bolt.
