I have an oil cooler on mine but like Jeff said, I think I could have gotten by
without it. I have a freshly rebuilt engine and did not want to overheat it.
That being said, I can close off the airflow to the cooler with a butterfly
valve and the oil temp never gets above 200 Degrees, If I open

Larry, You didn't mention that the other airplanes that you caught up to
without breaking a sweat were a bunch of RV's 😉

Phil,
is that a Rolls Royce built Continental Clone with the larger cylinders and
pistons, etc? They were standard on the Reims built C-150 Aerobats and put out
125 hp for only 7 lbs extra weight. If so where did you manage to find those
cylinders, pistons, etc?
Thanks!

I have flow behind several O-200 and none of them have had an oil cooler.
I've never really had a temp problem out of them, but they have all been on
C150s. I do remember seeing a mod at one point in time that added fins to
the spin on filter to help cool a little more but I can't find it now.

Hi all,
This question is for anyone who has flown behind the 0-200, did your aircraft
have an oil cooler? For anyone that perhaps changed their system, either to or
from, did you notice any significant difference?
I currently own a Davis DA-2, and it has an oil cooler, mounte

I have 655 hours on my 0-200 and I've never run an oil cooler. The
highest temp I've ever seen was right at 210 degree
Bob,
Rustolium makes a black primer with some sort of phosphate additive for
use on rusty metal. Comes in spray cans. To answer your question, the
zinc phosphate will be fine, you would want to cover it with paint as a
protective cover, at least I would.
Carry on,

If you would like a photo of my 0200 set up, let me know where to send them.
My Rolls Royce airforce 0200 has oil cooler at the rear of the left cylinders.
And It also has a screw on oil filter. It’s been overhauled and ready to go as
soon as my KR2ss is finished. Phil

I know the feeling that you're talking about when a highway patrolman passes
you. As a heavy haul trucker. I have pulled over dimensional Freight all over
the country. The maximum width is 102" in all states.
"maximum width that you can be without a permit is 8' 6""
I believe this is true in Texas too but does vary from state to state. However,
I will say that when you are transporting a plane down the highway it is
amazing at what people notice. I moved my Diehl casting outside of the
propeller sli
