I have an oil cooler on mine but like Jeff said, I think I could have gotten by without it. I have a freshly rebuilt engine and did not want to overheat it. That being said, I can close off the airflow to the cooler with a butterfly valve and the oil temp never gets above 200 Degrees, If I open the air flow it never gets above 160 Degrees, That's after it goes through the engine, so it's got to be a lot cooler than that after it leaves the cooler. Oh, I operate the butterfly with a push/pull cable from the cockpit.
