Hi Oscar,
I have no feud with Mike at all. I just filled him in on the facts as it was
obvious that he did not follow the links supplied. I have read often that the
KR2 flies better with the more aft CG. No argument there from me at all.
However, looking at the stats, I'll configure mine to fly
Hi Owen,
This was an interesting topic, at least for me. I am no KR2 flying expert, I
just studied the material as provided.
However, I do not want to come forward as being negative towards the KR2 - I am
building one myself. Time to ditch this topic. I'll definitely remember the

Hennie;
I don't believe Mike's comments were that it was either safe or recommended to
fly a KR (or any aircraft) *outside* the aft CG limit. Rather, I read his
comments to be that the plane flies more comfortably -lighter controls, better
response- in the aft end of the CG envelope. "Aft CG

We all know there are lies, dam lies, and statistics…but:

MO9, Miller, MO 2020.
3,300 ft grass strip. Hanger Kafe, meeting room available. Camping yes, no
hotel/motel. Mt. Vernon, MO nearest hotel/motel. I would arrange for
shuttle bus to transport to and from. Internet available.
Kiman Kingsley, owner, has given me the green light to host KR Gathering.
I arrived home in Winnipeg about 2 pm today. Sorry I was not able to stay for
the dinner but so appreciative of the effort and result of the organizers of
this year's gathering. Thanks again to Robert for my first ride in a Kr. I am
inspired to get to work on mine and to attend next year's gathe
And of course the infamous Sundowner made it home as well. Sucked a little
more gas and still went a little slower, but remember guys, that tortoise
did beat the hare.
Glad everybody made it with no issues. I haven't seen the weather out
west Is everybody OK?
An excellent Gathering. had fun
Larry,
Good to hear.
Just got a call from Mike Sylvester letting me know he made it home safe as
well.
Final clean up this morning of the EAA hanger went pretty quickly. Much
thanks to all the KR Gathering Attendees who made it there. Yes, is was a
great time for all!
Thanks,
Rob

John and I learned something today. You don't let a Cessna 172 try to catch up
to a kR-2. 🤔 But we did got some great pictures of Mike's Sylvester 's plane.
I believe this gathering this weekend is on the list of one of the best ever.
Rob, you and your chapter did a great job this weekend. Thank
I made it home at around 11:45 am GREAT TIME ROB .

I'm home from the Gathering. Good time had and lots of familiar
faces. Thanks Rob and EAA91 for hosting.
One stop on the way home for auto fuel at $2.56 per gallon. That
beats the $5.34 100LL at my home base.
See you all at Mt.Vernon next year

Hi Kayak,
I notice a great many aircraft kits now includes this as standard. A Backup
system gives peace of mind. I do not at all conseder the KR2 as unsafe. Like
anything else, if you keep within the design limitations you should be safe.
There are pilots worldwide who have accumulated over 10
Tx Chris,
Valid points indeed.
Kind regards,
